Art NoHo is a collaboration of artists living and working in the North Hollywood area of Los Angeles. Most Saturdays, artists convene at Gilda Garcia's home (aka Poodleville) for Art Day to make art and have fun in her garden. This Sunday, you can see and purchase the art in the festive setting where much of it was inspired and created.
Featured artists include:
Our host, Gilda Garcia, graphic designer, creates wacky and wild paintings on cardboard, canvas, clay pots, and furniture inspired by poodles, Mexicana, cacti, and did I say poodles? She will be selling her painted clay pots and Addison Dogs Calendars to raise money for the non-profit organization to help dogs with Addison's Disease. Art NoHo members contributed designs for the calendar.
Eli Goitein, professionally trained, paints and draws like the masters, will be highlighting his photo collages.
Shannon Gosch started Art Day with her papier-mache cat sculpture, will be selling her exquisitely delicate papier-mache hummingbirds and beaded earrings.
Sarah Hage will be selling her painted clay pots, art cards with holiday themes, dogs in Mexican wrestling masks, and desserts, as well as original oil and acrylic paintings. You can sign up for custom paintings of your pets (with or without masks).
Ruth Kaplan, jeweler extraordinaire, specializes in silver and semi-precious stones. Her original designs have been used in feature films, most recently Transformers 2, Revenge of the Fallen, and sold in high-end boutiques such as LTH Studio on Ventura Boulevard in Studio City.
